Biography
Born and raised in North Carolina, I have also lived in Switzerland, Tennessee, and Texas. I have a bachelors and masters degree in Psychology, love to teach and learn from others, and enjoy being in the outdoors whenever I can. Favorite activities include photography, writing, listening to music, cooking, gardening and laughing. I like to do that last thing as much as I possibly can. Humor is a survival mechanism for me. I'm married with one child, a son who means the world to me. He shows up quite often in my photos, even if sometimes it's with hands in front of his face.
I love to travel and my camera never leaves my side. I have a very strong desire to share my experiences in life with others and connect that way. Photography and Writing have become not only my creative outlets, but the way I interact with and connect to others in the world. Images and words working together are a powerful punch and something I never take for granted. When I die, there will be a line of poetry on my lips. Unless I get hit by a truck suddenly, or fall off a cliff unexpectedly while trying to get that perfect shot. ;)
Project Updates and Status
I'm working on adding to my portfolio all the time. I have thousands of unprocessed photos from past shoots, so it's a constant project to make it through the best of those. I'm also delving into the world of selling prints and stock photography right now.
Future Projects and Trips
There is a lot in the works for 2012 - so far the most exciting trips are to shoot The Colors Festival in Utah, Burning Man 2012, and (returning to) Death Valley, CA. I'm also working on some stock photography, have several photo walks in the works, and am planning on taking a workshop in flash photography and portraiture.
